June 3, 2023 - 2023 WNY Iris Show Award Winners: David Baehre, Best of Show; Joanne Bassett, 2nd Runner Up; Marilee Farry, Best Perennial; and Maria Gerbracht, winner of the McGarvey Award for the Best Beardless Iris.
January 2023 - WNYIS members participated in a centerpiece competition with an oriental and line-design theme. The creative centerpieces were created using foliage and flowers of the gardener's choice (iris not required).

December 2022 - WNYIS members met over the 2022 holiday to participate in a friendly holiday centerpiece competition. All centerpieces were judged using the Artistic Design Point Scale. No iris were in bloom at this time, so the creative centerpieces were created using foliage and flowers of the gardener's choice. In addition to this competition, members also brought in donated gifts for teens in-need.
